Master Gardener\, Scott McKain\, to speak on Fixing Free Nitrogen in Sustainable Food Production: \n\n\nScott will cover the chemistry and biology needed for nitrogen to be fixed from the air to the soil. This process is rare west of the Cascades for reasons that will be described. Understanding this gives us the opportunity to reduce or eliminate importing nitrogen fertilizer.
